In the main event we will see Cain
Velasquez try to defend his UFC Heavyweight championship against the man
who continues to prove everyone wrong, Antonio Bigfoot Silva. These two
have fought before, at UFC 146. In their first fight we saw Cain
Velasquez brutalize Antonio Silva within a round. He would destroy him
with ground and pound and leave the canvas full of Silva’s blood. One of
the bloodiest fights in UFC history with Cain Velasquez leaving a huge
mark on the Heavyweight division. Since the loss Antonio Silva has won
two fights in which he was the underdog in devastating fashion. He would
rebound the Cain loss with a brutal first round knockout over highly
touted Heavyweight prospect Travis ‘Hapa’ Browne. Then after that he
would continue to get thrown to the wolves as he would take on K1,
Strikeforce, and DREAM heavyweight champion, Alistair Overeem. Bigfoot
would go on to score a vicious third round knockout. During this time
Cain Velasquez would take on Junior Dos Santos in a rematch. At UFC on
FOX 1 JDS would dominate Cain and take his belt away from him in just
over 1 minute. At UFC 155 Cain Velasquez had the chance to redeem
himself, and that he did. Dominating JDS all the way till the final
bell. He would reclaim his gold and he now has a challenger waiting for
HIS rematch. Will their 2nd fight end the same, or will Bigfoot continue
to shock the world?
As usual, the UFC will be having their Memorial Day Weekend card in Las Vegas Nevada. On this card we will see a rematch, a much anticipated dream fight, and a battle of two always entertaining WWs (so far).
